The Magic Mirror was the hit of our 2004 haunt. Many, many thanks to its creator!! I'd highly recommend taking a look at his desctiption of the mirror: Imagineering. We had myself manning the microphone most of the night. Many kids would come back over and over to get to talk to the mirror again. I think the fact that it was so interactive was partly why it was so popular. We also had a video camera set up, so I could see the kids as they'd come forward.

Here you can see our behind the scenes set up. We had the primary monitor facing through a two-way mirror towards the kids. I had my second monitor so I could change the puppet over to automated without it being seen through the mirror. Seeing Windows Desktop in a magic mirror could truly scare some people! Then we had a TV for the camera.

The mirror, with the frame was from a garage sale for $1. But we replaced the mirror with a clear piece of glass. And used Gila reflective film to make the glass into a two-way mirror. So it looks just like a real mirror, reflection and all, until the face shows up. This is where we placed our candy bowl in the haunt.

In this shot you can see the reflection of the photographer, but also can see the face.
