I don't have many pictures from 2003, but I grabbed some screen shots from the video. This was also a year with a whole lot of snow on halloween night. So our drunken pirates were buried with snow before the night was out.

Our entrance to the pirate 'cave'

We might as well put the snow to good use. We made some cannonballs with snow, and a victim for the pirates to shoot at. The cannon shot smoke rings, which you can see some pics of if you click on this picture.

Another good use of the snow, my cousin made a snow skull for near the entrance.

Here's our talking stone we dubbed "Grog". He's made from a singing Christmas Douglas Fir. He was used in a couple haunts, including 2003. In this haunt he was quoting Heston in Treasure Island.

The eyes of this dead pirate follow you as you walk past it.

Skeleton Captain still at the helm. We had a flashing strobe for lightening.

On of my favorite effects is Pepper's Ghost. We haven't gotten a good picture of the effect, but here's a screen shot from a video that gives you the basic idea. We had a scene of pirates with their treasure, when an image of a ghostly skeleton appears in the scene.

This was the scene we had set up for the ghost to appear.
