Other Animatronics

There's a handful of Wal-mart animatronics that we've modified to make them more unique. Rather than do a separate page for all of them, I decided I'd throw them all on one page. The nice thing about these animatronics is you get pretty good synchronization with whatever sound input, and you also get head movement, which is nice. If you get them on clearance, it's an easy, relatively cheap way to get an animatronic for your haunt.

Forest Troll

This muppet looking character was originally one of those dancing skeletons that Wal-mart was selling. Then I glued a mask onto his head, to make him into something more original. We are hoping to use him as a forest troll in our sleepy hollow haunt. Probably doesn't fit the Sleepy Hollow theme very well, but he's so cool! Here's a video of him in action. We put him on a bucket to make him taller, and extended his arms with pool noodles. Will hopefully have more pics after the haunt: Troll Video

Grave Digger

Our grave digger took a little more time to change. He started as a dancing, singing christmas bear. I stripped it all the way down to its bare mechanism, then built it back up into this spooky character. The first video below is a video of him jacked into the radio. It'll synch a lot better with only one voice talking, rather than a bunch of background music. Haven't decided for sure what I'm going to have him say. The second is a dark video of the bare mechanism without a head or mask.

Pumpkin Head Harvey

Pumpkin Head Harvey was also one of those dancing skeletons that Wal-mart. We had him telling Edgar Allen Poe poems etc next to our endless tunnel in our 2004 haunt. Much thanks to Hedstorm.net for their audio files! I have two video clips of Harvey. One is right after putting the mask on him (no sound). The Second is from the haunt. It'd kind of dark, but you'll get the idea: Video #1 Video #2

This is right after putting the mask on harvey. I probably need to blacken his teeth, so they don't show so much.

This is a little over exposed, but here's what he looked like at the haunt.

A night shot of Harvey. Again, pretty dark, but you'll get the idea.
