Grand Teton, Wyoming

The Tetons are great mountains! I've climbed the Grand Teton 3 times and have climbed around in the Teton range for years. The Grand is at an elevation of 13,770 feet and is considered one of the 50 classic climbs of the world. There's many different routes to the top, the two most popular are the Owen's Spalding route, and the Exum Ridge. I've climbed them both and each one is unique and exciting. These are pictures from my trips up the Grand seperated by the years we climbed them. I'm still working on gathering up some pictures from my climbs here, so there's not much here yet.

September, 1994

My first real alpine climb was on the Grand when I was 15 years old. It was an incredible experience!

Wall Street
Me, Mike and Doug with Wall street behind us. Wall street is a wide ledge that eventually narrows down to nothing. One must climb around the corner to get access to the Exum Ridge.

Jon and I on Wall Street. When Glenn Exum first soloed this route, he had to make a jump to a high handhold without a rope here at Wall Street, with thousands of feet below him.

Icy Rappel
On the descent we come down the Owen's Spalding route. There's a lot of downclimbing and 2 rappels. This is the start of the first rap. Very icy this time of year!
