Little Ice Cave

"Little Ice Cave" is a little cave in Montana...with ice in it...yeah. It starts with an icy entrance, but then dries out a little ways into the cave. We haven't gone too far back in the cave, because there was a good amount of crawling, and didn't have knee pads. Maybe next year... It's always nice to take advantage of the free air conditioning in mid July. One year we visited the cave and it turned out a bear had been living in it :-/ The bear was wandering around outside the entrance, so we quickly exited the cave.

Michele and I at the entrance to the ice cave.

We thought this little pine tree growing out of the top of the cave was cool

walking...er..crawling along the ice

A cool ribbon of ice on the ceiling. in past years the whole ceiling has been covered by large ice crystals. Very cool!!

Further back in the cave where the ice ends.
