Bighorn Cavern

Here's Richard on the rappel into Bighorn Cavern. It's a great 80 foot rappel to the bottom. To get back up out of this pit, you can ascend directly up the rope, freeclimb the sides, or take the express route out. We hook the rope to the Explorer and pull you out.

Me coming out of one of the tunnels in Bighorn. There's about 8 miles of tunnels that have been explored, with many more waiting to be explored.
This is a section known as the Crystal Subway, named after the crystals that cover the tunnel walls.
The Bean in the Crystal Subway.
The bean crawling through one of the many crack sections.
Neil nearing the Red Dirt Maze, a section of the cave with soft red dirt all over the cave floor, making the crawling a little more enjoyable.
Richard sticking his head out of a crawl space.
Neil coming out of yet another crack.
Cheese! Looking up from "The Pit", a hole found deep in Bighorn.
This is an exciting route in Bighorn called The Crawl. At some spots, the crawl is so tight, I had to turn my helmet sideways so it could fit. this is the entrance to the Crawl.
Dave emerging from the Crawl.
The Crawl only took one victim, Dave's pants. Here's his pants that got ripped as he was trying to get through the Crawl. The cage covering the entrance to the cave is in the background.
