Big Brush Creek Cave

Big Brush Creek Cave is the second longest cave in Utah, at just under 5 miles. The cave is often clogged with huge logs and other debris from spring run off running through the middle of it. Such was the conditions on this little excursion. The main channel was clogged up, so we opted to take a side cavern until we came to about a 20-30 foot drop. We didn't have any ropes with us this time, so we headed back. But we definitely want to come back more prepared, and explore further. So far we've barely scratched the surface...

Mike, Chad and Becky, geared up for fun underground.

The log jam in the main channel. At this point we turned around, and climbed up into a side passage.

To get into the side passage, we climbed up a short, but slippery log.

The side cavern had great acoustics. Hit the right notes, and the walls would resonate.

The cave was very wet. But it made some cool condensation patterns on some of the rock and log jams.

A little tight in places.

Back at the entrance, heading back to our car. Can't wait to come back and explore this cave further!
