Other Wyoming Prospects

There's definitely potential in Wyoming for canyoneering. But the canyons can be hard to find. I've found a lot of slot canyons that aren't interesting enough to try, but there's a few that are on my list. This page just has a few of the canyons I haven't explored yet, that may be good routes. If you want to have beta on these, or my other canyons drop me an email. jumarbATnetscape.net

Layout Creek is in Bighorn National Recreational area, near Spur. I've walked along the rim of the canyon, but haven't descended it. It's not very narrow, and doesn't look very difficult. But it is a scenic canyon that might be worth doing.

The end of the canyon looks like the most interesting. Around this last bend, it ends up at the Bighorn River. There may or may not be some rappels at this point.

I just found out about this potential canyon. My uncle took this picture while fishing, near Clarks Fork. It's hard to tell much from the pic, but it definitely piques my interest. This is Dead Indian Creek. I'll have to check it out next time I'm in the area.
