Spur Canyon, Part 2

In the second part of the canyon, it changes character a bit. Instead of rappels, there's tons and tons of bush wacking, plus some fun downclimbs and really unique limestone narrows. Then to finish the canyon, a small tunnel that empties into the Bighorn River.

Bean and Dave at our lunch break in the canyon.

The sun made some cool colors reflecting off the walls.

A few scummy pools makes the descent a bit more interesting.

Bit of a tight squeeze!

The last rappel is about 20-30 feet into a small alcove next to the river.

Neil on the rap. As you can tell, the water is rising and we ended up having to wade quite a ways.

Me on the last, short rappel. From here we waded along the side of the river, back to our raft and forded the river again.

Becky heading back to the car. A pretty good storm moved in, which made us glad we were out of the canyon by now.

Take another trip down the Spur?
