John Blue Canyon

This limestone canyon offers a unique experience, much different from the sandstone slots of the South. I've driven past this slot for years on my way to caves in Northern Wyoming, but never got to explore it until this year. It's a short, but fun canyon that offers a different kind of canyoneering experience. It's a 2A I rating with a half a dozen or more drops of 20 feet or less. Most can be downclimbed, but we rapp'd the first several drops to make it funner. Unlike sandstone downclimbing, there is very little traction on the rock, making it more difficult to downclimb. We've done the canyon several times, so these pictures are a bit random. If you want to have beta on these, or my other canyons drop me an email. jeff.a.baird(AT)gmail.com
